We finally held our annual general meeting online about six months after the original date chosen. Before any of us were aware of the words Coronavirus and Covid-19, we had planned to have it in the Mackenzie Hall on a Thursday evening in March, just like any other year. But of course this turned out to be not like any other year, and that plan had to be postponed.

The re-arranged AGM took place on September 3, a Thursday evening (in the PGP we are creatures of habit). It was our first attempt to hold anything more ambitious than a short committee meeting online, and it didn’t go particularly smoothly. However all the necessary business was completed and there was even room for some discussion towards the end, although proceedings did finish somewhat suddenly.

Two new committee members, Jackie Roby and Matt Dunwell, were elected, and we are very pleased to welcome them. During the discussion we gratefully accepted an offer from Jonathan Axe, chair of Dean Forest Beekeepers, to host a joint online meeting of the two organisations about a subject of interest to members of both groups.
